I KNOW THAT MY FACE IS ONLY TOO FAMILIAR TO YOUR SLEEP

I'm so happy to have dogs. They're often obnoxious and lord knows they dirty up my house like nobody's business, but man they're wonderful. It's easy to love them.

Okay, so on the book front I got my dba, I filed a fictitious name statement, I got a business license from Burbank and a Federal ID number from the IRS. All of this means that I'm officially the owner of a small publishing company. Yay. Now if just one more dang person would write me an endorsement blurb I could send this dang book off to Hong Kong and get 2000 dang copies back and get this show on the road.

Just as I was singing the praises of the dogs, Beans was outside chewing up the rug liner. I chased him around for a minute, then tried to tug it away from him, then fell on the ground and rolled around while he pulled me. We're a circus routine.

Last night I was doublebooked for social activities, which included going to Nickelodeon for a lecture on how to sell a show, and then girl's night in Pasadena. The Nickeloden thing started with cold fried calamari, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, and tomato and basil with a mozzarella square together on a toothpick in the courtyard. For some reason it was all grose - someone had high-fallutin gourmet aspirations but it was just cold sog. So then we went inside to their makeshift basketball court/conference room and listened to a bunch of nerds talk about their cartoon. It had been billed as "How to sell your series idea," but was actually "Let's talk about how different we are from Dexter's Laboratory and the Power Puff Girls even though we look exactly the same." It was lame and we ducked out when they started up the 1930's cartoons that supposedly influenced them. Even cartoons get pretentious in this dumb town.

So girl's night was only four of us and now another one of them is pregnant, so I'll officially be the only one with no offspring. And instead of the usual 4 hours of sex talk it was 4 hours of baby talk, and I'm mostly down for it because I'm in that stage where I'm thinking about it, but still it was a lot. The things I am most curious about now regarding a baby are: names, what it will look like, will it be creative or a mathematician, and if I'll still be into current music when it starts getting into music. I know, I'm retarded. My one friend with the one and a half year old never plays music for him, and I can't understand it, I can't fathom not having music on all the time.

We owe over five grand in taxes! Yee-haw! Damn you, IRS. I can use that money more than you can.
