WHAT'S
THE USE WITHOUT INVENTION IN YOUR MIND
My
apologies for the absence - I've been swamped with work, and when
it's offered I gotta take it. Last week I did dialogue for this
and this.
I'm linking to them instead of talking about them because they're
both being shipped around town under ridiculous code names and since
I once again care about not being fired after going through that
period of "go ahead! fire me!" I'm back to being careful.
It's
funny watching Tom Hanks, Nona Gaye, and Peter Scolari run around
in motion capture suits.

Gwenyth
Paltrow just had a baby that weighed nearly ten pounds. She's gonna
be sore for years, man. And poor little Apple Martini, I mean Apple
Martin, she's in for it. I read that mother Gwyneth has been taking
parenting lessons from Kate Moss.
How
do these girls with nary a stitch of extra fat on them and no hips
even bear children? I do not know.

I'm
in movie mode again. My interest in moviewatching has been reinvigorated.
With that comes the decision that I have a script or two left in
me before I give up, and I know attitudinally that that sounds lame,
like maybe I should give up now already if I'm not in it for the
long haul, but one has to be practical. So the movie part I want
to throw out there to you guys -- what movie or movies do you love
that you feel were overlooked or else totally underrated? Here's
one of mine: The
Thin Red Line. If you've got a journal, it'd be great to hear
your thoughts on underrated and favorite movies there, or if you
want to email me your suggestions, please do it that way. (I'm dumb
and don't know how to link to email so I guess you have to do that
from the main page). I'll use your suggestions on Tuesday 2-for-3
DVD days at my local rental shop.

In
house news, we got fresh carpet last week which replaced the old
super cheap brown the house came with, and underneath the old carpet
and the inch-thick pile of dust were some fairly nice hardwood floors.
If we were hip and cool I guess we would have nixed the carpet entirely
and just buffed and polished the wood, but poor Paul would never
get a moment's rest trying to find his footing. He has enough time
skittering around the kitchen on the Pergo.

I
ordered a G5. I am officially out of control.
