This
afternoon I was having a dance party with the baby (Erasure "Sweet,
Sweet Baby" was the featured song) and I was looking at his
eyes and realized that they changed color today. Seriously. Yesterday
they were blue with brown-green flecks and today they're light brown.
Just like that, they changed overnight. Also in the last two days
he's started grabbing his feet with his hands, and he also rolled
onto his side yesterday afternoon. Coincidence that all these things
happened at once? Baby development is so amazing and wild, it's
like a miracle happening gradually before your eyes.
(The
monobrow on his wee head is actually not a monobrow but a reddish
stork bite that shows up when he's perturbed.)

My
moviewatching spree continues as I expect it will into the foreseeable
future while I'm bound to the living room couch nursing. Today's
selection was "Idiocracy", the movie Gray and I were kicked
out of at the theater when we tried to sneak in to see it, and
I only watched ten minutes because I realized I had to save it to
watch with him. If the rest of it is anything like the first ten
then it's going to be awesome, and I can't figure out why there
wasn't more buzz about it since there's a lack of irreverent movies
these days, at least ones with flair, so it should be treasured.
If seeing little kids having a birthday party inside what was once
a Fuddruckers restaurant but is now "Buttfuckers" in the
year 2505 when everybody's become an idiot is your cup of tea, then
you should rent it.

There's
been much hubbub about the 7-Eleven in Burbank that was turned into
a Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart
the other day, and I gotta say that even though it's about a mile
away from my house I haven't been inside it yet because the line
to get in is LONG. On the way home from softball last night I drove
by it and people were lined up around the building. But they don't
have Duff beer, so that's boring. Also, Kelly Clarkson's new CD
is boring. Also, I still totally blow at softball.
